Our Services

Save with long-term storage deals. Our prices are broken down, giving you the option to store for less.

The longer you store the lower the price!

Yes! You can mix and match your order, for example you can store your own boxes and suitcases, or D2D boxes and your own boxes.

Here is a list of items we can collect, anything else will need to be securely packed in a box, there is a weight limit of 23kg per item:

  2. Your own boxes up to 75 x 52 x 40cm
  3. Your own suitcase
  4. Your own holdall
  5. Musical instruments in cases
  6. Sporting equipment in their covers
  7. TVsin appropriate size boxes

If there is a specific item you would like to store which won't fit into a box, please let us know at info@door2doorstorage.com

Unless your order is being collected and returned to the same address, we would advise ordering with multiple people. If your order is being returned to separate delivery addresses please order separately.

In case of emergencies, we ask that all boxes/items are individually labelled so it is easier to separate orders. Re-delivery costs £6.76 per box. If you choose to separate your order, any extra re-deliveries will cost up to £20 per item per delivery.

You can store with us as long as you need, be it 1 month or 1 year. When you place your order you will get to choose how long you store for. If you are unsure of how long you would like to store for, don't worry, we will keep your items in storage until your re-delivery date. The longer you stay the cheaper storage is (offer only available at checkout, we do not offer any storage discounts once your items are in storage).

1. Food, perishable goods unless packed so that they are protected from and do not attract vermin

2. Antiques (breakable and fragile);

3. Items containing or made of glass (including mirrors);

4. Birds, fish, animals or any other living creature


5. Explosives weapons or ammunition

6. Any item which emits fumes, smell or odour

7. Combustible or flammable materials, liquids or compressed gases, including but not limited to, paint, diesel, petrol, oil, gas, artificial fertilizer or cleaning solvents

8. Chemicals, radioactive materials, biological agents

9. Toxic waste, asbestos or other materials of a dangerous nature Any other toxic, flammable or hazardous substance or preparations, classified as such under applicable law

10. Musical instruments in soft cases (hard travel cases are fine but we cannot insure them

11. Illegal or stolen goods, drugs, pornographic material or any goods prohibited by the law or regulation of any government or public or local authority or goods that require special licence or government consent for export or import.

12. Money, deeds, securities, coins, cash or negotiable instruments (including cheques and any vouchers with a face value);

Please note that although we do accept some fragile items, including crockery, mugs etc., we cannot insure them. If you are storing fragile items, please make sure they are thoroughly bubble wrapped (multiple layers) and carefully packed to ensure they are safe during transport.

We do accept electrical items, but please note that we cannot insure them.

We reserve the right to open your boxes if we suspect that the contents are in breach of our Terms of Service.

Yes we do. Every box/suitcase is covered for up to £100 both in transit and also in our warehouse. For a small additional fee you can upgrade the coverage to £200 per box/suitcase.

There are some items we won’t cover:

  • Any prohibited items (see ‘Is there anything I can't store?’)
  • Damage caused by the inclusion of liquids, perishable goods or any of the prohibited items listed
  • Electrical or mechanical damage to any appliance, instrument, clock, computer or other equipment unless there is evidence of related external damage
  • For any goods which have a pre-existing defect or are inherently defective
  • Fragile items that are not able to be packed into boxes, such as mirrors, frames or lamps

If you are storing fragile items, please make sure they are thoroughly bubble wrapped and carefully packed to ensure they are safe during transport. We provide plenty of parcel tape with every order.

Please make sure that every box is well wrapped with parcel tape especially on all the edges of the box.

All our storage is located at our storage facility with over 30,000sq ft of storage in our own modern warehouse and we have always placed an emphasis on safety and security.

1. Our warehouse has 24 hour Redcare intruder and fire security. This means that in the event of a break in or fire the emergency services are contacted automatically by an external service provider.

2. We have a 24 hour CCTV system that records all movements within our building on every floor and every corridor.

3. Staff trained to maintain and monitor all security services

4. Intruder alarm system on all doors & reception area

5. Fire & smoke alarm system throughout store


6. All stores monitored by Security Centre after trading hours

7. Staff walk-around before reception opens

8. Daily store patrols by staff

9. Staff walk-around before reception closes

10. Requirement for customer ID and proof of address


We use DHL for the collection and re-delivery of parcels.

*In addition each order is insured for up to £100 per box (subject to terms and conditions )

Delivery

No, we don't deliver on weekends. Our delivery times are Monday-Friday between 9am-6pm

Let us know if you would like to change your delivery date by leaving us an email at info@door2doorstorage.com.

If you miss your scheduled slot please email us to let us know as soon as possible. We will then re-book your pick up again.

Where possible, on the day of delivery you should recieve a notification (usually through your email provided on the form) with a 2-hour time slot

Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee that you’ll get a call from your driver. We know not all students have a UK phone number so we will always contact you through email first.

If you have any urgent questions or queries please email us at info@door2doorstorage.com, Our working hours are 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri. Get in touch If there is anything that might make your delivery particularly tricky.

Collection

To ensure that your collection goes smoothly, please:

  1. Be available for the full collection window.
    Your collection could take place at any time within your chosen timeslot. Our collections usually take place between 9am and 6pm. You need to be available at the delivery address throughout this time or allow another person like a receptionist to sign for your stuff on your behalf. Where possible, we’ll provide you with an 2-hours timeslot to help you plan your day. This’ll be emailed to you the evening before the delivery.
     
  2. Order is ready.
    Your order must be ready on the ground floor or at reception. As well, please make sure all of your items are clearly labelled with your name and Order number (e.g. SS1234). For the safety of our drivers they are not allowed to go into the student's accommodation.
     
  3. Tell us of any changes.
    If there are any changes to your order e.g. more boxes/items, please let us know in advance so we can let our drivers know. If any changes have been made and we are unaware our drivers may only collect the original amount.

We can collect your order from pretty much any UK Mainland address; be it your home address, a business address or your student halls of residence. Our collection times are Mon-Fri between 9am-6pm, you should recieve a 2-hour timeslot on the day.

To ensure a successful collection first time, make sure you enter your full address and an accurate postcode.

We can only collect from the ground floor, reception, or post room. Please make sure your order is packed and ready and waiting on the ground floor for your driver to collect.

If you need extra assistance, we can offer a doorstep collection in some areas for an additional charge of £30.00. If you need this service please email us at info@door2doorstorage.com

Yes, of course. If you want to change the number of boxes you’re storing or you need to alter any specific collection instructions, please email us at info@door2doorstorage.comby 12pm 2 working days before your collection day. If your collection is on a Monday, then get in touch by 12pm the Thursday before.

If you decide to change your collection date, please let us know as soon as possible and no later than 10am the day before your intended collection (get in touch by 10am Friday if it’s happening on the following Monday!)

Re-delivery

If you want to store for longer just let us know at info@door2doorstorage.com.

Let's say you chose to store for 3 months when you placed your order but now need to store for another month, don't worry! We won't get rid of your items, we will continue storing your items until your re-delivery date. If you miss any storage payments we will contact you to see if you still want to store with us.

We need at least 2-3 working days to arrange re-delivered!

Unfortunately, we do not ship overseas. This will have to be arranged by the student. We will be happy to cooperate with you by providing our warehouse address, and making sure your order is labelled and ready for collection.

We advise avoiding separating orders as it can cause more complications to your order.

If you’re on the move, that’s not a problem at all. We’ll deliver your boxes to the ground floor of any address you like within mainland UK, be it a residential address, a business address or your student halls of residence. There are only some locations we can’t arrange delivery to, such as airports and train stations and some Scottish Highland Postcodes have an additional charge. All we need is a residential or commercial address and postcode.
